Chromebook Turn In table

Dear Students, Parents and Guardians,

Reagan Middle School will follow their traditional Chromebook turn in process and Chromebooks will be collected from all RMS students in the classrooms the week of May 20th.

DHS Seniors will be turning in their Chromebooks as they finish their schoolwork. All Senior Chromebooks and equipment need to be turned into the DHS Tech Zone before graduation practice on May 22nd.

For grades 9, 10 and 11, students in good standing that are expecting to return to DHS after summer break will have the option to keep their Chromebook over summer. In recognition of the evolving nature of education and the increasing integration of technology into our curriculum, we believe it is beneficial to offer students the option to keep their Chromebooks over the summer break. We understand that many students may have ongoing projects, summer courses, or personal learning initiatives that could benefit from continued access to their educational resources.

The option to return Chromebooks for storage during the summer will remain available to all students. Chromebooks can be turned into the DHS Tech Zone during school hours when students are finished with their spring schoolwork. Any Chromebooks turned in for summer will be distributed back to the students at the start of the fall semester.

Students will continue to be responsible for their Chromebook during summer if they choose to keep their device over break. The school district maintains a policy that will cover the cost of the majority of repairs to Chromebooks resulting from wear and accidents. The policy does not cover abuse and lost or stolen Chromebooks, so students will continue to be responsible for those situations.

Students in grades 9, 10 and 11 will receive an email with a link to let us know they will be keeping their Chromebook over summer.  For any Chromebooks that are not turned in when the semester ends, families will be contacted to affirm they are holding on to the device over summer or they will turn it into the school.

If parents prefer not to have their student retain responsibility for keeping their school provided Chromebook over summer break, have your student return their Chromebook to the DHS Tech Zone at the end of the semester.

For those who opt to keep their Chromebooks, we encourage responsible usage and remind students and parents to take appropriate measures to ensure the security and maintenance of the device during the break.
