DIXON PUBLIC SCHOOLS #170
Good evening, Dixon Public Schools parents and guardians. Below is our COVID data for Monday, September 28, 2020 through Friday, October 2, 2020.
A parent asked how many students and staff are currently onsite for in-person/blended learning. We have 1,772 students registered for in-person/blended learning and 309 staff members. Staff members include teachers, paraprofessionals, administration, office staff, nurses, and custodial staff for both Dixon Public Schools and LCSEA. These are the numbers used when figuring percentages on the data below. The student numbers will change on October 13, 2020 once parents choose 4 days on-site learning or full remote learning.
This Wednesday is another special board meeting. The Board Members will be reviewing and approving the elementary updated Return to Learn Plans and discussing possible changes to RMS and DHS’ plans. The “Change to Learning” forms for the elementary buildings can be found on the front page of our website. You only need to complete this form if your student is moving from remote to onsite learning or from onsite to remote learning. All forms need to be completed by Friday, October 9, 2020 at 4 p.m. This will provide time for buildings and the bus company to be ready by Tuesday, October 13, 2020. Parents can complete a form for each elementary student now or can wait until after Wednesday’s special meeting to make their final choice.
Wednesday’s Special Board Meeting will be streamed on our YouTube channel. The link will be posted on our website prior to the 5:30 p.m. meeting. If you have any public comment, please email those to President Wegner (lwegner@dps170.org) and Mrs. Empen (mempen@dps170.org) by 2 p.m. on Wednesday. We have limited seating onsite, so if you want to attend in-person, please call Dianne Frye to ensure a seat is available. Dianne can be reached at (815) 373-4966.
